Who I’d Be - Shrek the Musical

Shrek was a fun role to play. I was able to visit WERS radio station in Boston to Promote Wellesley Players Production and sing Who I’d Be along-side Angela Richardson as Fiona and Tim McShea as Donkey.

Once Upon a Time (Bare) - My Gay Canvas Cabaret

I had the privilege to perform in my first solo cabaret at Club Cafe in Boston,Ma to share pieces of my life through my favorite song and storytelling.. This song from Bare the Pop Opera specifically highlights the journey of the struggle of my queer identity and the love for god.

What People Are Saying About Anthony?

“Pires commands the stage every time he’s on it, even when he’s sitting at one of its tables; his broadly comedic take on “Your Feet’s Too Big” brought the house down, and his booming voice often served as the fulcrum for his castmates’ vocal flights. “

Boston Globe (Ain’t Misbehavin)

“Standing out among a quartet that includes Yewande Odetoyinbo (“Caroline, or Change,” “Breath & Imagination”) is no mean feat, but Pires’s fearless performance delivers three-dimensional portrayals of a repressed preacher’s son, a free-spirited citizen of Amsterdam, and a brusque member of an artists’ collective in Berlin”

Boston Globe (Passing Strange)

“Anthony Pires, Jr. (Ton-Ton Julian) brings a lithe physicality, knock ‘em dead pipes and an irresistible twinkle in his eye to his role.”
